The Harvard Business Review’s «Management Tip of The Day» of July 2, 2010, «3 Ways to Handle Disruption» appears to be appropriate to be considered for every project leader during the planning phase of any project.
How? Consider the next:
- You should consider the Universe against you in any project and you’ve to be prepared for the most possibles negative situations.
- Communication is important. A project is an adventure in which many people are involved. It is not an adventure just for their leader neither for one of its members.
- Values are important because it is not the process what really matter. Yes, it is important to be sticked to a method or workflow but them are just guides and a disciplined way to work. They are not rules you have to obey not matter what.
- Methods and workflows cannot comprise every possible situations. So intuition and knowledge will be driver forces at any moment. What really matter is what you get after your project is done, nothing more nothing less. George Bernard Shaw put it this way:
Take care to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get.
