Not so long I wrote a post on a problem with the MS Word plug-in of Mendeley Desktop for Microsoft Word 2016 for Mac. A well known problem which throw the error message:
Again, after update to version 1.17.12 this message came again.
Of course, I tried uninstall and reinstall the plug-in but it didn’t work. Next was test if uninstall and reinstall the Mendeley Desktop application could has some effect (until this version I can tell it is safe do it without any risk for the documents base).
When I was doing it, I notice that my original installation was in a subdirectory inside/Applications. Was this the cause of the error? I believe it is possible. Maybe both the plug-in and the application expect the installation be made in this path and no other (alternative or inside).
Unfortunately, it was too late when I notice this. Reinstallation was done, into /Applications.The error disappears.
