As Erik Ortlip mentioned in his post «Is Apple’s iEmpire in Danger as Google’s Chrome OS Tablet Prepares to Face the iPad?» for the IEEE‘s Tech Talk blog, Google has embraced the open source as its main strategy to provide and get software for its hardware products, and he concludes that an important point and advantage for Apple is its experience and creativity in design.
Perhaps the Steve Jobs’ return gave to Apple a push to avoid bankrupcy and the oblivion; now this company has a domination on MP3 players market and a good participation on the cellular phones too but despite Jobs’ works the market share on the computer market remain the same.
I don’t think Apple is in danger. The consumer segment for which its computers are destined is well established and defined. Google still have to learn something on design and funcionality to suppose a real threat to Apple. I concur.
